Get to Know Your WISH Medical Staff
Liz started as a volunteer nurse with WISH Medical in 2016. She has been a nurse for 24 years and has worked with all ages of clients in a variety of settings.
Liz was born and raised in Tennessee and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1993 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In the hospital setting she has worked on surgical floors, post-partum mama & baby units, pediatrics, and in the operating room. She has also worked in home health and outpatient surgery settings. In 2011, Liz finished her Master’s degree in Nursing Education through Grand Canyon University, and then taught nursing students in both hospital and long-term care settings.
In 2015, Liz and her family moved to Pullman for her husband’s career. Liz heard about WISH Medical from friends at church, and she has always wanted to use her nursing skills for ministry. When an opportunity came along for her to join WISH Medical, she leapt at the chance to become part of the team. She loves the ministry provided to the clients through advocacy and medical services.
Liz and her husband, Jeff, have 3 children. They like to volunteer at church and enjoy bowling, cycling and hiking.
Monica Eggleston, ARNP, FNP-C
Monica is a Family Nurse Practitioner who joined WISH Medical in 2016. She has been a medical provider for 10 years, and enjoys working with people of all backgrounds and ages.
Monica obtained her MSN and nurse practitioner training from Seattle University in 2006, then worked for 6 years on the Navajo Reservation doing full spectrum family practice, including care for chronic and acute conditions, procedures, women’s health, as well as a solo provider at satellite clinics. Monica has done educational and medical volunteer work in Ethiopia and Bolivia, and cherishes the friendships made through those experiences.
Monica grew up in the area, and after several years away for education, work, and travel, returned here with her husband and children to enjoy the outdoor beauty, wonderful people, and extended family. She has worked in family and integrative medicine practices in the area, and now enjoys working with patients in her own practice. She is excited to also be part of the caring and compassionate WISH Medical team. Monica loves camping, mushroom hunting, fiddling, and being a mom.
LeAnn Robertson, RN, Clinic Manager
LeAnn became part of our WISH Medical team in 2014 as we continued to expand our medical clinic to serve the Palouse. She has a vast array of experience and knowledge in coordinating care in a medical office setting.
LeAnn was born and raised in Moscow, Idaho. She obtained her nursing license in 1993 after attending North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, ID. She has over 20 years of experience in nursing ranging from interaction with people of all ages in a family practice office to caring for the elderly in long term care facilities.
LeAnn has worked for two of the past medical directors of the Center in their private practice settings. The doctors she had worked with had told her that she would be a welcome asset at the Center and would serve the community well. When the opportunity came along to join the WISH Medical team, she jumped at the chance. What she likes most about working here is the combination of advocacy and medical care, and that there is always time to connect with patients. “We meet people where they are, and hope to help them move forward in a positive way.”
LeAnn and her husband Dan have four children and four young grandchildren. They serve in a variety of areas in their church, and they all enjoy camping, hunting, fishing, and family trips.
Dr. Helen Shearer, our Medical Director, has been providing oversight of WISH Medical as well as feedback, consultation, and direction for the medical team since 2007. She meets regularly with the medical staff, reviews all ultrasound images and reports, and provides recommendations for continued care with prenatal care providers. Dr. Shearer serves on the Board of Directors for Palouse Care Network, Inc., the parent affiliate of WISH Medical.
Dr. Shearer attended school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science, graduating in 1998. She completed her residency at ISU Family Practice Residency from 1999-2001. She moved to Moscow in 2001 and joined a thriving family practice here on the Palouse. Her services include a full scope of obstetrical care as well as continued care for newborns and their families.
Dr. Shearer and her husband have 2 children. They enjoy fly fishing and spending time together as a family. Dr. Shearer is also passionate about international mission trips, and has participated in several with her family.
